Soaring to new heights: Dento Aviation welcomes the first Pipistrel Explorer in Cyprus

The arrival of the Pipistrel Explorer marks an exciting new chapter for DENTO GROUP. This aircraft is considered one of the safest, most innovative and eco-friendly aircrafts in its class.

Our Accountable Manager and Head of training states:

We are proud to annouce the introduction of our brand new Pipistrel Explorer “Single Engine Piston Aircraft”.

Our decision to select and acquire the “Pipistrel Explorer” was based on its unique features and design which is required in training today’s, and tomorrow's pilots.

In short the Pipistrel Explorer is an aircraft with unique features such as,

  • Operating Speeds: With an average cruising speed of 120 knots, is fast enough to be mixed together with airliners;
  • Approval to Conduct: Flights during Day and Night under Visual Flight Rules, Intentional Spinning, and Upset Prevention Recovery Training;
  • Instrumentations: Full IFR equipment, including 2 x Class Cockpit Garmin Displays, and an Autopilot;
  • Flight Controls: Steerable Nosewheel, Variable Pitch Propeller, Flaperons and Airbrakes;
  • Stall Warning: Stall onset awareness is greatly improved with the visual, aural and haptic stall warning systems. The visual and aural stall warning systems are integrated in the PFD by using AOA pressure information from the AOA port on GARMIN, and the associated AOA display on the PFD; and
  • Safety Features: It is the only aircraft to have an approved Ballistic Parachute Rescue System (BPRS) which allow to bring the aircraft and its occupants to the ground in the event of a life-threatening emergency.

To support our trainees in the fast-track learning of the “Pipistrel Explorer” systems and operating procedures, Dento has created, A) an e-learning module, B) an updated version of its “Visualized Flight Maneuver” booklet, and C) offer an introductory / familiarisation flight to all of our trainees.

With the introduction of the  “Pipistrel Explorer” we intend to take the flight training of our Ab-Initio Pilots to the highest level possible.
