PILOT STUDENTS VISA

The Department of Minitry of Migration has implemented a special Pilot Student Visa scheme for approved training organisations such as DENTO Training starting 20th of October 2025. 

This special scheme for Pilot Student visas is applicable only to student that wish to attend Pilot training programs which are approved by the Department of Civil Aviation Authority (DCA) in the Republic of Cyprus. 

The applications are only valid for student attending courses with a duration of more than 4 months. 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

1 - COPY OF VALID PASSPORT
  • A copy of a valid passport or other travel document, with a validity covering at least three (3) months beyond the requested duration of stay.
  • Copy of the passport or travel document page showing the latest entry stamp into the Republic and the relevant visa (where applicable).

2 - ORIGINAL CLEAN CRIMINAL RECORD

An original certificate of a clean criminal record from the country of origin and residence, if the applicant resides in a country other than the country of origin, duly certified and translated (into Greek or English).

3 - MEDICAL BLOOD TESTS

Original results from medical blood tests, proving that the third-country national is not suffering from hepatitis B and C, HIV, syphilis, as well as a chest X-ray for tuberculosis with a physician's report, sealed by a qualified physician in the Republic.

4 - BANK GUARANTEE LETTER

An original bank guarantee letter from a banking institution in the Republic, valid for ten years, to cover potential repatriation costs, in the name of the applicant, either from their bank account in the Republic or from the School/Organization where they will attend the program. If the guarantee letter is issued by the School/Organization, it can be collective.

5 - HEALTH INSURANCE CERTIFICATE

A Health Insurance Certificate for medical care covering inpatient and outpatient care and corpse transportation (Plan A).

6 - LEASE AGREEMENT IN CYPRUS

Address statement: property title or rental document (duly stamped where required) or a host declaration for suitable housing provision. 

If the lease agreement exceed 500 Euros per month an original agreement needs to be duly stamped by the TAX Department in Cyprus. 

7 - DENTO'S APPROVAL CERTIFICATE BY DCA

Official confirmation letter from the DCA, regarding the approval of Dento Training Ltd on the course provided.

8 - CERTIFICATE OF ENROLMENT

Dento Training Ltd shall be issueing a confirmation letter to the Authorities confirming the students. 

9 - CONFRIMATION BY ATO THAT STUDENT MEETS ATO'S REQUIREMENTS

Dento Training Ltd shall issue a confirmation letter that the third country national meets the admission requirements of the ATO.

10 - PROOF OF PAYMENT OF COURSE FEES

Proof of payment of the registration fee and part of the Course fees.

11 - CERTIFICATE FROM CYPRUS BANK OF ACCOUNT

Certificate from a banking institution in the Republic (detailed bank account statement), showing that the third country national has transferred foreign currency from personal or direct ascendants’ income abroad into a personal account in Cyprus:

 

·        at least €24,000 to cover accommodation, subsistence, and Course tuition expenses,

OR

·        at least €10,000, provided the applicant can prove additional sufficient and stable income from abroad of at least €14,000 (income may include salary, pension, deposits in a foreign bank account, rent, dividends, or interest, belonging to the applicant or their direct ascendants), thus ensuring a minimum annual income of €24,000 as required.

 

Note: If the total Course duration is less than one year, the amount shall be calculated proportionally to the duration and must cover at least €2,000 per month of attendance.

PROCEDURE

APPLICATION

Within 3 months of arrival, the applicant must submit the relevant application (MVIS) along with the required documents, as listed in the supporting documents list, to the central offices of the Department in Nicosia to obtain a temporary residence permit. All accompanying documents must be officially translated and duly certified/authenticated. No appointment is necessary to submit the application.

If the applicant is legally residing in Cyprus under a different status, they have the right to submit the relevant application for obtaining a temporary residence permit under this Plan.

Applications can be submitted in person or through an authorized representative.

Applications not accompanied by all required documents will not be accepted for processing.

Any change in the applicant's details during the processing of the application must be immediately communicated to the Department.

A fee of applicable charges is payable for the submission of the application (see above).

The issuance of the temporary residence permit requires the collection of biometric data (photograph and fingerprints) and the signature of the third-country national, which is conducted by presenting the proof of application submission and a valid travel document. Biometric data must be collected simultaneously with the submission of the application, at the Department's offices in Nicosia. This data is also collected for the renewal of the temporary residence permit.

Renewal applications must be submitted to the Department along with the necessary supporting documents at least one month before the expiry date of the temporary residence permit. A fee of applicable charges as mentioned above is payable for the submission of the application.

In case of approval of the application, the applicant will receive a letter informing them about the collection of the temporary residence permit. If the application is rejected, the applicant will receive a letter explaining the reasons for rejection.
